The Present

At Spice Garten, we believe every visit should feel like a celebration. What began as a heartfelt dream among three Nepali friends—Daya, Suman, and Miraz, lovingly known as Dhyan Maitreya—has blossomed into a vibrant space in the heart of Hamburg, where food, culture, and spirit come together.

Today, our journey continues with renewed passion. Daya, the driving force in the kitchen, pours his decades of gastronomic experience into every plate, curating authentic Indian and Himalayan recipes while adding creative seasonal twists that surprise and delight. Suman, with his talent for photography and media, captures the essence of our cuisine and ambience—brass plates gleaming in soft light, steam rising from freshly made momos, and the joy of guests gathered around a shared meal. Miraz, as Dhyan Maitreya, infuses the space with healing energy, guiding mantra nights, cacao circles, and soulful gatherings that remind everyone that food is a form of medicine.

Our present focus extends beyond taste alone. We are creating a welcoming terrace where guests can linger in the open air, surrounded by warmth, conversation, and the gentle flow of music. Inside, Himalayan art and candlelit corners create a sacred atmosphere that soothes the senses.

Spice Garten has become more than a restaurant—it is a sanctuary and a celebration. Every dish is prepared with care, using spices and traditions passed down through generations, offering a true journey through the flavors of India and the Himalayas. Each plate tells a story of heritage and togetherness, while every gathering—be it a casual dinner, a community event, or an evening of music and mantras—leaves behind a memory that nourishes both body and soul.

Because for us, dining is not only about food—it is about connection, joy, and the simple beauty of sharing life.
